A family is busy fundraising after their granny, Pat Bannister, became ill with cancer and underwent subsequent treatment. Granddaughter Gina devised Pat-athlon and the family are now raising money for the breast cancer campaign. On May 25, Gina and Tom Bannister cycled from Caffle Brewery in Llawhaden to Lawrenny - a 17.5-mile route, rowed from Lawrenny to Haverfordwest - nine miles - and then sister Kelly joined them to run from Haverfordwest back to Llawhaden - a 13.5-mile route. So far, they have raised over £1,000, but any further donations would be very welcome at http://www.justgiving.com/pat-athlon">www.justgiving.com/pat-athlon. Thanks go to Jelly Egg, Martin James Health Club and Caffle Brewery for supporting their efforts so far. Another fundraising event is 'Quilts on my Patch' where donated quilt pieces will be put on display at Caffle Brewery on June 14, 15, 19, 20 and 21. If anyone would like to donate a square, please send to Pat, c/o Caffle Brewery.
