NARBERTH-based Circus Malarkey are holding a Family Fun Day on Saturday, March 8, from 10 am until late afternoon. Activities will include live performances from circus members on the streets of Narberth, sponsored events and a jumble sale and craft show in Queen's Hall.Monies raised will be given to the company for the continuation of access to the community in circus training and development.
Circus Malarkey began in May 2002 with the aim of providing access for the community to circus, costume and music skills, including equipment making and management. It is through the continuous support of a strong team of volunteers and trainers that founder members Becky and Robin Benson, of Llawhaden, are able to continue to present workshops to the community of Pembrokeshire.
Persons of all ages and abilities are able to participate in any of the circus training workshops held every Tuesday at the Queen's Hall, Narberth. Members of the circus find the skills and exercises they learn to be very rewarding and fun, empowering and team building, challenging and motivating.
Since the company began they have been invited to provide team building workshops for local businesses and have enjoyed participating in several of the South Pembrokeshire carnivals, including Narberth and Haverfordwest, and the Tenby Street Fair. In the Narberth Winter Carnival they were awarded 'best walking group with adults and children'.
