The team at Pembroke 21C are still in jubilant mood after successfully purchasing Foundry House for the community and before refurbishment of the community centre begins decided to throw an all day party tomorrow (Saturday) for the community as a thank you to them for all their support. A packed day of family fun will be taking place on the Commons as well as in the community centre. There is something for everyone including novelty races, dancing around the maypole, Steps2Health walk, environmental games with the National Park, lucky dip, wildlife activities and even a fire safety demonstration by the local Fire Brigade crew. The day will also mark the start of the next phase in the life of Foundry House Community Centre with the launch of the 'Buy a Brick' Campaign which will kick-start the refurbishment works. Many of the user groups will be running stalls and there will be demonstrations from Dansation School of Dance and budding musicians will be able to have a go at playing an instrument with Castle Brass. To keep energy levels up, there will be a range of home-made refreshments available, as well delicious locally produced burgers and ice- cream. "This is an excellent opportunity to show the local community what huge steps Pembroke 21C has taken in the last few years and a day where everyone can get together and have some fun," said Pembroke 21C trustee, Rosey Mitchell.
