Starting at 2 pm, there is the opportunity to learn some basic Spanish or try out Salsa steps. Later, after an interval, learn how to make tortillas with either wheat or corn, using an authentic press, or listen to Mexican folk tales.
Throughout the afternoon there are also craft activities, including real volcano-making! People are welcome to come and go as they please, and all the activities are free. So if you packed a sombrero, bring it with you and enter into the experience.
With delicious home-made chilli, freshly made tortillas and other Mexican treats to follow at 5 pm, the afternoon promises to be an enjoyable time for everyone. A vegetarian option will be available. Meals cost just £2 per head or £5 for the family.
The evening finishes with a 45-minute documentary entitled 'Stronger than Guns' which takes you to the heart of the Church in southern Mexico, Peru and Columbia and paints a picture of victory in the midst of conflict and violence. The film is not suitable for children under the age of 14.
The 'Manorbier to Mexico' family afternoon takes place tomorrow in Emmanuel Gospel Church Hall, Manorbier (near the garden centre) and is organised by Hesed Christian Fellowship. Activities start at 2 pm; food served at 5 pm. Any proceeds from the day will be sent to the Open Doors charity.
