During a recent trip to the Falkland Islands, our general manager Clare Townend (pictured) called into their local newspaper office and picked up a copy of their weekly publication, the Penguin News. Clare and husband Andy also visited the Falkland Islands Museum and were fascinated to view all the displays relating to the islands' history, the conflict of 1982 and island life.

Clare now intends to send a copy of this edition of the Observer to staff at the Stanley-based paper, together with articles from 2006 when the RFA Sir Galahad, the successor to the Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship of the same name lost during the Falklands War, sailed into Pembroke Dock and when Tenby bade a fond farewell to its former lifeboat, RFA Sir Galahad, and a plaque was unveiled at the new lifeboat station to commemorate the association between the brave craft which shared the name.
