Fairtrade supporters from across South Wales walked the 20 miles from Haverfordwest’s Oxfam Shop to St. David’s Cathedral on Saturday to raise awareness of Fairtrade.
Walk organiser Phil Broadhurst from Carmarthenshire Fairtrade County Group said: “We had a great time walking a lovely route, handing out leaflets to walkers, campers, holidaymakers and locals, and stopping in Fairtrade supporting pubs, The Harbour at Solva and The Duke of Edinburgh at Newgale, who both serve Fairtrade coffee.
“I even managed to have a swim in a Fairtrade banana costume half way, which isn’t something you do every day!” St. David’s was chosen as the destination because of St. David’s often quoted saying: ‘Do the little things’.
As Phil Broadhurst explained: “When you buy a Fairtrade product you are doing a little thing which has a big impact.”
