Tenby’s High Street was dealt a further blow this week with fashion clothing store Joules closing its doors on Saturday (February 18).

The troubled retailer was bought by rival Next for £34 million after falling into administration in November, but despite the rescue deal, 19 stores were closed with immediate effect, with some branches saved though.

However, the company has now confirmed its outlet situated in the centre of Tenby since September 2017 on Tudor Square has closed for good.

Shoppers to the seaside town were dealt a blow earlier this month with retailer M&Co confirming it had not found a buyer, with all of its 170 shops to close.

The company has had a presence in Tenby since 2017, when it replaced the TP Hughes’ clothes department store situated on High Street (and Upper Frog Street).

Tenby’s branch of HSBC which is situated a little further along from Joules is set to close before the summer.

Greggs however, is on the move a little further up the street to occupy larger premises at the former Shoe Zone store. It is believed that Costa coffee will then open at Greggs’s current premises.
