Picton Castle Gardens and Courtyard was the glorious setting for last weekend's Country Fair. This new and exciting event was supported by Pembrokeshire Tourism.

The weather, despite the forecast, was kind. Radio Pembrokeshire outside broadcast on Saturday, while entertainment on Sunday was by the Goodwick Junior Brass Band and Garreg Las Morris Dancers.

There was a wonderful array of stalls, with local crafts, country clothes and local nurseries selling an array of plants.

In addition, there was an amazing raffle. The prizes were as follows: a day's shoot for two, courtesy of the Philipps family; an aeroplane flight from Fly Wales; £40 book token from Castle Archers; £20 voucher from Newbridge Nurseries; £25 voucher from Haylett Grange Shooting Supplies; and many more.

"I would like to personally thank all of our staff, friends and supporters for their help in putting on this new and exciting event at Picton," said Dai Evans, director of the Picton Castle Trust.

Have-a-go sports were available for all to try: viz - air rifle range (courtesy of John Raymond), archery (Castle Archers), Pembrokeshire Woodturners, Pembrokeshire Spinners and Weavers, RSPCA, Haylett Grange, have-a-go shoot, fly casting (Pembrokeshire Anglers Association).

Added Dai: "We also had wonderful support from the local community. A great day out for all who attended."
