A new solution has been suggested to help solve Narberth's parking problems.

It has been mooted that the town council look at turning part of the grassed area of the Town Moor into extra parking spaces.

The idea was put forward by Clr. Wynne Evans, who represents the town on Pembrokeshire County Council.

Speaking at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, he said: "Narberth is a very successful town and is very much on a high, but the parking is of great concern and we must look at this." The areas Clr. Evans felt would be suitable were an area behind the Queen's Hall and RAOB Club and alongside the footpath between Wells Terrace and the primary school.

"I can't think of anywhere else, but unfortunately it does mean giving up a green area to the motorist," he added.

Councillors agreed to form a working party to look into the matter. Clrs. Williams, Radford-Smith, Rogers, Bradley had volunteered to join the group, while members of the town's Chamber of Trade and local organisation, PLANED, will also be approached to be involved.
