Pembrokeshire County Council is currently developing the evidence base for its emerging Local Development Plan (LDP). Once adopted, the new plan will supersede the Joint Unitary Development Plan for Pembrokeshire (JUDP) in the county council's planning area. One aspect of developing the new LDP is to invite the public to put forward sites they consider should be identified for development in the new plan. These are called Candidate Sites. Due to unprecedented interest, the council has extended the deadline for the submission of Candidate Sites from March 31 to May 30. If you have land you wish to be considered for inclusion in the new plan you should contact the council. You will be sent a Candidate Site form and a short explanatory note on where development might or might not be acceptable. Everyone submitting a Candidate Site should read this note and complete the prepared form. The council will consider every proposal made and, in due course, inform all those who have made such a submission of the initial outcome (in other words, whether the site is identified for development in the draft Local Development Plan or otherwise). All submitted forms will be publicly available and those identified as having potential for future development will be added to a Site Register in due course. The form and explanatory note can be downloaded from the council's website (http://www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/planning">www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/planning), or alternatively paper copies are available on request: This can be done by telephoning 01437 764 551, e-mailing [email protected]">[email protected] or writing to LDP Team, Development Plans Section, Pembrokeshire County Council, County Hall, Haverfordwest.
