SPAN bring something extraordinary to Haverfordwest this Friday, May 17 when explosive xylophone big band BATANI MARIMBA bring all their dancing and singing spectacular to the Queens Function Centre as the only Welsh date on the 'Rhythms and Routes' tour.
Featuring musicians from across Africa, Batani Marimba, present a roots dance show that takes the audience out of their seats and on to the floor to share a truly authentic evening of music and movement.
The African xylophone, the marimba, is a common sound in many parts of Africa and this show has four of them together with master drummers, brass and guitars. Each performance will showcase both the deep ancestral acoustic roots and vibrancy of the contemporary African sound.
The journey will take us to all parts of the continent and on into the urban cross cultural mix, guided by the voice, the drum and the rhythms of Africa.
