The annual contest for the Bert Densley Memorial Cup was played on Boxing Day, with Manorbier's footballing Veterans taking on Manorbier Youth. This was a keenly contested match with pride at stake.

The Youth started the game much the better side, with the old bones of the Veterans taking a while to get going.

But the Veterans managed to take the lead with a quick free-kick from a back pass to young Tom Christopher, Nobby Hall slotting it away from two yards.

The second half started much the same, with the Youth having all the possession, but failing to score.

The Veterans scored another from a corner which fell for Robbie Izzard.

The Veterans soaked up all the pressure to the final whistle to record a win and collect the cup.

The Youth were very disappointed. They will be looking for revenge next year!

Thanks to Castle Inn for food after the match.
