Sir,

We have to accept that we are living in changing times: things once taken for granted now have to be justified. For over 55 years our coastal town of Tenby has enjoyed stage productions by the amateur group Tenby Players. Because of the increased costs year on year and the falling numbers of audiences we are being forced into the position of considering our future. It would be such a shame to lose local drama in the town, but figures speak for themselves.

The Players will be holding their annual general meeting in the Tenby County Club on February 12 at 7.30 pm to explore the viability and future of the company. They would like to extend an invitation to attend this meeting to all current members, previous members and anyone in the area interested in live theatre in order to discuss these problems.

We would like to extend our thanks to all who have supported us over the years, who have lent us furniture and props, who have watched our plays, and all of those local people who have acted in our productions.

Many theatre groups have 'folded' during our half century of activity, in the county; we hope that the players will not follow suit. Now we are asking for your ideas and support to what could be a dramatic meeting, so come and have your say.

Rhobert Pattinson,

President of Tenby Players,

Duneside,
