Tenby Arts Festival, September 21-29, will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year. From small beginnings, this week-long event is now well established and draws loyal followers from near and far.
In the last few years, the visual arts have gained a higher profile. Last year, Texaco sponsored 'Sculpting the Millennium', which proved an exciting and productive project for local schools.
This year's special event will be an open art competition run by Art Matters, the attractive and expanding gallery in South Parade, in conjunction with the Arts Festival. Details will be announced in July.
The 'Arts Trail' listing in the festival's programme will continue by popular demand. The trail lists professional galleries and also small exhibitions by artists who show their work during festival week at venues such as studios, shops, restaurants or private houses, throughout the town and surrounding villages. Artists must arrange their own venues. The cost of being listed in the festival's glossy programme is £25.
Artists wishing to participate should telephone Marion Hutton on (01834) 843295 for details.
