John Selway is one of Wales' foremost artists and you will have an opportunity to see his work in an exhibition of paintings and drawings based on the work of Dylan Thomas.

'Another Kind of Eden' opens on Saturday, May 4, at the Queen's Hall Gallery, Narberth, at 2.30 pm and will be opened by Ceri Thomas, artist and art historian. The exhibition is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10 am - 5 pm, and will run until June 8.

John Selway lectured at Newport College for many years and continues to teach at Coleg Sir Gar, Carmarthen. He has had many solo and group exhibitions and this current one is the launch of a three-year touring exhibition throughout Wales and Ireland and is bound to attract the attention of the public and working artist community alike.

The exhibition will consist mainly of works related to the poems of Dylan Thomas and in particular, Fern Hill, which relates closely to John's own childhood memories and experiences of holidays at his grandmother's in the borderlands between Wales and Herefordshire in the 40s and 50s.

The exhibition contains all stages of his work, from the preparatory small scale sketches, to the cartoons or working drawings, to the final oil paintings, giving the viewer insight into his working practice and the development of his ideas.
