An invitation pairs darts tournament was held at the Rugby Club on Friday, when 20 pairs contested the £100 first prize. There were also cash prizes down to the last eight pairs.
Played on four boards over the best of three legs of 501, the board winners went through the semi-finals, with the final being the best of five legs.
In the darts competition, board winners were:
Board one: M. Hale and P. Robinson (Crown P).
Board two: P. Watkins and Phil John (RFC).
Board three: Jim Williams and R. Muskett (Swanlake).
Board four: S. Allen and G. Gwyther (Tenby RFC).
Semi-final one: P. Watkins and P. John 2 S. Allen and G. Gwyther 0.
Semi-final two: Jim Williams and R. Muskett 2 M. Hale and P. Robinson 0. During this match, Mike Hale chalked up a maximum 180, but it was not enough to stop the march of the men from Jameston.
Final (5x501): Jim Williams and R. Muskett 3 Phil John and P. Watkins 2. In an exciting contest, the Swanlake pair fought back from being 2-0 down to overcome a very competent RFC pair to win 3-2.
Thanks go to Tenby RFC for the use of the venue, and Stuart Allen and staff for setting up the boards etc.
Note: Tenby and District Darts League charity donations for this season were made to Tenby Gateway Club, Welsh Air Ambulance and Ty Hafan Children's Hospice.
Thanks go to sponsors Jazz Radio-Tatung for their continued support.
