Innovation NetworksCreativity and Innovation in Micro-enterprises is launching three new Innovation Networks this January across the South West Wales region.

Sandra Begley, lead academic of the project at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, explained the idea behind the networks:

"Running a micro business can be very rewarding, but you can miss out on some of the advantages that people operating in larger companies take for granted: opportunities to brainstorm, to look at problems from different perspectives and to take advantage of skills that might not come naturally to you.

"Our creativity and innovation networks will bring together business owners from all sectors to provide opportunities to apply lateral thinking to their business, problem solving with like-minded people and an exchange of ideas.

"Applying creative approaches and techniques to your business challenges may help you compete in these difficult times. You might even have fun!"

The Innovation Networks will focus on the challenges that attending businesses choose to highlight. The first three events across South West Wales will introduce micro-businesses within the region to the programme and assist participants to ignite their creative spark.

The first event will take place in Ceredigion on Monday, January 10, at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Lampeter campus, in Pembrokeshire, on Tuesday, January 18, at the Technium in Pembroke Dock, and in Carmarthenshire on Tuesday, January 25, at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Carmarthen campus.

The CIME project is delivered in partnership between The University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Swansea Metropolitan University, SERA (South East Regional Authority, Ireland) and Kilkenny Enterprise Board Co. and is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of the Ireland-Wales 2007 - 2013 INTERREG 4A Programme
