Templeton School has had an exceptional year in sport. The netball teams have competed in two netball tournaments, the football team in the county festival and knockout cup as well as the area tournament in which they won the Eric Feetham Trophy. The swimming team competed in the area gala and the cricket team in two rounds of the county tournament. The cross country team came ninth in the county championship.
These are events entered each year, but the individual matches which also usually take place have been cancelled due to waterlogged pitches or the Foot and Mouth crisis.
The unique situation this year is that the school has had three children representing the county at three different sports.
Jack Harden played in goal for the County U11 football team, competing in many venues from Aberaeron to Cardiff; Aron Keane represented the county rugby team, playing in places from Maesteg to Dunvant (unfortunately Aron was away on the day of the photograph); Thomas Richards played cricket for the county, travelling to places from Swansea to Ipswich.
While the school recognises the boys' ability and commitment, it is fully aware that these boys have been given these opportunities because of the volunteered dedication of teachers and coaches from Pembrokeshire who have given of their time to develop these boys' talents. Thank you.
