Played over 18 holes, this mixed foursome stableford competition attracted 24 pairs keen to tackle the links after the heavy traffic of Open Week. Possibly inspired by the example of the Saturday Swingers, who preceded the foursomes on the course, some excellent scores were recorded. The results were:
1. Sam and Mel Morgan, 44 pts (£30 voucher and Usher Cup); 2. Eiona and Geoff Aston, 40 pts (£24 voucher); 3. Mary and Bryn Rowell, 38 pts (£18 voucher).
Denise and Tim Edwards recorded a two, earning a voucher for £12, as did the (greedy but accurate) Mary and Bryn Rowell. The bag draw, at £11.50 per lucky couple, was shared by Joyce and Ken Goldsbrough and Barbara and Tony Morris.
For the remaining 36 players who did not feature in the prize list, better luck next time and at least we all enjoyed the competition, the company and the fine match meal from Roger and Ria.
Mrs. Kathleen Usher, who sponsors this competition, was not able to be at the club to present the cup, but she sends her congratulations to the winners and her best wishes to all the members.
