Once again, as a precursor to the annual Saundersfoot in Bloom event, a poster competition was held for local schoolchildren.

The standard of entries was excellent and the presentation of prizes took place last week at Saundersfoot CP School by kind invitation of Miss Helen Lester. Winners were as follows:

Pentlepoir School: Up to four years-old - three pupils tied for first place, namely Ben Turner, Laura-Marie Price and Adam Taylor; five-seven years - 1. Ben Hinksman, 2. Danielle Turner; eight-11 - 1. Bobbie-Jane Kuhl, 2. Mollie Lewis.

Netherwood School: Up to four years - 1. Eleanor Scourfield, 2. Jack Hurley; five-seven - 1. Kat Syhilo, 2. Duncan Warren; eight-11 - 1. Max McNamara, 2. Eleanor Williams; 12 and over - 1. Gareth Nelson-Edwards, 2. Gordon Stu.

Saundersfoot School: Up to four - 1. Beth Williams, 2. Katie; five-seven - 1. George Lander, 2. Taryn Williams; eight-11 - 1. Gemma Thomas, 2. Angelina Briers.

Overall winners: up to seven - George Lander, Saundersfoot CP School; eight and over - Max MacNamara, Netherwood.

Posters will be on display at Saundersfoot Information Centre until after the Saundersfoot in Bloom Flower Festival at St. Issell's Church, July 17-21.
