There have been strong AS and A Level result performances at Pembrokeshire College this year, with some excellent individual and group results. Overall, for full-time students studying for A2, 69 per cent of grades achieved were in the A-C category, with 21 per cent being the highest grade A. There were also 100 per cent pass rates for Maths, English Literature, English Literature and Language, Environmental Science, Film Studies, Geography, History, Photography and Media Studies. "The results reflect both the hard work of students and the high quality support, facilities and teaching at the college," commented faculty manager, Sian Thompson. This year saw the first cohort of Welsh Baccalaureate students complete their studies. Some 91 per cent passed the advanced level, which is equivalent to an A-grade at A-level or an extra 120 UCAS points when applying to university. Georgia Gratton is going to Exeter University to study Biology in September due to those extra 120 UCAS points. "Exeter offered me a place if I passed my Welsh Bac and got a B and a C-grade in other subjects." Learning services manager Maxine Thomas said: "This year, Pembrokeshire College students will be progressing on to a broad range of classical and vocational subjects at university from medicine at Cardiff to acting at the well respected East 15 Acting School in Essex."
