Tenby’s Evergreen Inn held another virtual horse race event last month in aid of Light for Lloyd Davies, raising £900.
Lloyd, of Saundersfoot, lost his eyesight after being diagnosed as suffering from Lebers Hereditary Optical Neuritis (LHON).
He now desperately needs surgery in the United States, which will cost £10,000.
Paula and James, of the pub, who are pictured here handing the cheque over to Lloyd, on Sunday, would like to say a massive thank you to all who supported the event.
Race sponsors were:N. D. Toy and Partners Ltd; Pembrokeshire Tyres; Kilgetty Fish Bar; Marsh Road Garage; Five Arches Tavern; The House Fairies
Thanks also go to Skid for having his hair and beard shaved off and letting the organisers auction off his hat, raising a total of £250, along with Shan Procter, a local hairdresser, who gave up her time to do the shaving; Lollies Sweet Shop for the lovely sweet hamper that was raffled; and Ben Glanville for the brilliant commentary as always.
“We’d like to say thanks to all our generous locals who bought horses, bet on races and donated their winnings back to the fund,” added Paula.
An appeal has been set-up via the ‘Light for Lloyd’ fundraising GOFUND ME page online, https://www.gofundme.com/e8pte9xm
