Sir,

This year, I am taking on my biggest challenge to date, as if walking the Great Wall of China or trekking across the Sahara Desert was not challenging enough, on September 30, I am going to Everest!

That's right for a middle age balding dad of two who hates heights and the cold, what better way to relax for three weeks than climb 5,647-metre above sea level to Everest base camp, happily called the death zone!

As with all my walks, they are 100 per cent for charity as I self fund every expedition, therefore every penny you kindly donate goes direct to the charity. The charity is Cancer Research UK, a worthy cause close to my heart.

If you could afford a donation no matter how small, then please send it to the hotel marked for my attention with cheques made payable to Cancer Research UK.

I also have a Just Giving website http://www.justgiving/suenandrews">www.justgiving/suenandrews through which donations can also be made.

If you have sponsored me in the past and can again or if this is your first time thank very much your donation is greatly appreciated.
