After many years absence, evening theatre returns to the glorious setting of the National Trust's Colby Woodland Garden on Friday next, July 27, when Anvil Productions present Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, starting at 6 pm. Offering a fresh new approach to the classics, Anvil's funny and energetic production faithfully uses the text to develop the action. The performance will take place in the meadow, so bring chairs, blankets and suitable clothing. Theatre-goers may wish to bring picnics, but there will also be tempting hot rolls, drinks, ice-cream and cakes served in the meadow by the Bothy Tearoom, prior to the event and during the interval. The National Trust shop and the Gallery at Colby will also be open. Tickets, adults £12.50, child £8.50, family (two+two) £36, are available in advance from the National Trust shop at Colby or by phoning 0790 049 8966. Payment for tickets sold on the night will be by cash or cheque only. Further information on the event can be obtained by 'phoning (01834) 811885.
