A recent Estyn inspection of Lamphey Primary School highlighted the good standards attained throughout the school.

In both Key Stages, pupil achievement is higher than expected levels and is better than the average across similar schools in maths, science and English.

The quality of teaching was highlighted as being generally good with lessons being well planned. It was highlighted that there were very good relationships between adults and pupils with high expectations in the great majority of classes.

Provision at the school for additional learning needs is very good with the school having an inclusive ethos and a strong sense of community where individuals are valued and treated equally. The inspectors recognised that the school offers a safe, caring and welcoming environment for all pupils.

The inspection team noted that the school benefits from effective leadership in all lessons with the senior management team working well together and sharing a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning. It was also noted that the governing body supports the school very effectively, conducting its businesses very diligently.

The report recognises the good relationships that the school has with parents, the local community and other educational institutions.

Simon Hart MP and Rebecca Evans AM have written to the school to commend Mr. Thomas, his staff, Mr. Lewis and his fellow governors, parents and pupils on such a good report.

Headteacher Mr. Simon Thomas stated that this was a very pleasing report for the school and reflects the commitment from all of the staff and governors, the strong links that the school has within the community, but most importantly it shows the standards achieved by the pupils through their hard work.
