ON Saturday, November 7, a free open day in Pembrokeshire will enable the public to discover top tips and expert advice on how to keep your home warm this winter, while saving energy and money.

Between 10am-1pm at Y Stiwdio in Hermon, there will be a variety of family-friendly activities. Join a workshop or talk, have a spin on an energy bike, or join a tour to a local community-owned wind turbine and solar array.

The event is organised by Cwm Arian, a community benefit society, who provide free energy advice, among the range of services and activities they run across West Wales.

The free Home Energy Open day will run at Y Stiwdio in Hermon, North Pembrokeshire (Cwm Arian)

The Cwm Arian energy team visit homes in the region to provide support and advice for free – from carrying out thermal imaging surveys to spot where heat is escaping from homes, to fitting radiator reflectors to push warmth back into rooms, and providing practical advice on energy bills, heating controls, and low-carbon solutions.

Wales has the oldest housing stock in the UK and the lowest proportion of energy efficient homes (rated EPC C or above), meaning that many of us live in houses that are hard to heat and expensive.

Cam Kelly, from the Cwm Arian energy team, said: "We’re passionate about helping people reduce heat loss, save money, and make their homes warmer and more efficient by providing practical, tailored advice."

Cam added: "The open day is a chance to meet our friendly team and find out what our home energy service does, while also discovering more about Cwm Arian's wider work in our local community. We'd love for you to join us for a chat and a cuppa."

The event will be hosted at Y Stiwdio, a community hub run by Cwm Arian in Hermon, North Pembrokeshire, SA36 0DX. For more information, contact: [email protected] .
