Free wildlife recording sessions with West Wales Biodiversity Information Centre are a great way to discover your local wildlife. (Illustrative photo by David Bolton, a member of the ‘Picture This’ Tenby Observer photography club)

Part of the Your Wild Patch project, to build wildlife identification skills in the community and help people to monitor their local patch - funded by Welsh Government’s Local Places for Nature biodiversity grant scheme. Regular Community Wild Watch sessions will move around the different communities of Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.

Explore the local wildlife habitats together, record the species you find and have fun looking at nature in a relaxed, practical session. Training on recording and species identification will be provided. Community Wild Watch sessions look at all different types of wildlife, focusing on different groups in different seasons. Experts can offer advice and resources to help you carry on recording the biodiversity of your local patch.

If you want to learn more about your local biodiversity, meet other like-minded enthusiasts, or just look at cool stuff in nature, this is for you! All are welcome, regardless of experience.
