Following on from last week’s Carnival Parade in Tenby, event organisers from the town’s Fire Station have revealed the winners of the fancy dress and float entries.

On a wet Wednesday in Tenby, carnival-goers got even wetter as the annual firefighters charity parade passed through the seaside town, with a pause in Tudor Square for the famous water fight showdown!

Barbie, Ken, The Addams Family...all popped along for the day, with those taking part bringing a big splash of colour to the seaside town!

The charitable carnival always has a special place in the resort’s calendar and never fails to capture the imagination of the crowds that line the route of the procession or the numerous floats and fancy dress competitors taking part, and once again, the main recipient of the money raised by Tenby’s dedicated band of firefighters during the course of the day will be the Firefighters Charity.

The spectacular Carnival Parade was undoubtedly the highlight of a fun-packed day of events for all the family to enjoy, which started with the ‘open day’ from 10.30 am held at Tenby’s Fire Station along South Parade, featuring fire safety demonstrations throughout the day, as well as activities, fair rides, stalls, refreshments, and a grand raffle.

The fantastic Carnival Parade of floats, walking class fancy dress and other vehicles of interest, set off around 5.15 pm from Tenby Train Station, proceeding via Warren Street, South Parade, Belmont Arch, Lower Frog Street, St. George Street, Tudor Square, and St. Julian Street, before finishing at the harbour, where the awards for the best in class were given.

Fancy dress results were as follows:

Under 3s winners - 1st – Chester Luly Thomas; 2nd – Henley Connor.

Under 7s winners - 1st – Connie and Evie; 2nd - Tate Thomas; 3rd – Anabel and Autumn.

Under 11s winners - 1st – Hallie Paxton; 2nd – Isla Bertran; 3rd - Samuel Fecci.

Adult winners - 1st – Jaz, Phil, Estha Mcweeneys; 2nd – Patsy, Paul, Tyler, Carly Bentley; 3rd - Evangeline Paxton, Athena Scourfield.

Float winners: 1st – Tenby Aces; 2nd – Sea Life; 3rd - Viking Warriors.

Charity float winner: Tenby Round Table.
