Watch how Mount Pleasant Church members and friends are bringing Christmas cheer to Pembroke’s Main Street this December...

Despite the forecast, Saturday morning stayed dry as members and friends of Pembroke’s Mount Pleasant Church took to the town’s Main Street with a selection of carols. The group progressed from the Town Hall to a post outside the nightclub, popped in Café Rose for a crowded singalong, before heading further up the street to other venues, including the Paul Sartori charity shop.

Adding an extra layer of meaning to ‘Main Street Music’ - the name of one of the shops the carol singers stopped near on their procession - the carol singing will continue each Saturday in December leading up to Christmas. Meet outside the Town Hall at 10.30. ‘Bethlehem’ carol sheets are available for those joining in.

Other events on the Mount Pleasant programme are listed on a festive flyer. They include Community Carols in the Town Hall at 7pm on December 15; an all-age nativity service featuring their Little Soldiers, 10.30am at Grove School, followed by fellowship and lunch; and a carol service on Christmas Eve, December 24 at 11am. “Join us for bacon rolls from 10.30am,” reads the flyer.
