WATCH the 3 Amigos annual Christmas toy run passing through Neyland on Saturday. The toy run is a much-loved event which sees hundreds of motorcyclists collecting and delivering toys.

On Saturday, December 9, the toy run followed its usual route, leaving Pembroke Commons for a circuit around Pembroke before moving on to Pembroke Dock, down Laws Street, across the town and up Meyrick Street, turning towards Commercial Row and then down to the Cleddau Bridge and across the water to Neyland, where clusters of excited children and residents were gathered to cheer them on as they roared past.

At Neyland, the cavalcade progressed through the main town and up past the monument, then headed to Milford Haven via Steynton, finally to Haverfordwest through Johnston, finishing up at Withybush, where £6,000 and 15 one-tonne sacks of toys were donated to Hywel Dda University Health Board and Action for Children.

The organisers expressed their thanks via social media to everyone who has donated and supported the 3 Amigos over the year. Donations go to equipment not covered by NHS funding. Also included in the vote of thanks are all those who helped on the day including the Hywel Dda staff, Milford Round Table, Pembroke Town Team and many other volunteers for helping marshal, and Collins Brothers for helping Santa.

The Neyland branch of Ron Skinner & Sons very generously made a donation of £400 towards this year’s 3 Amigos and together with Gravells, lent vans to move toys and equipment.

The charity toy run supports children’s services within Hywel Dda University Health Board and the Wish Fund, a campaign which helps the Hywel Dda paediatric palliative care service to create lasting memories for the children, young people and families they support. The run also supports Action for Children.

Ahead of the run, Hywel Dda Health Charities fundraising officer Katie Hancock said:

“Once again the 3 Amigos Motorcycle Group and Dollies are going above and beyond to support children’s services in Hywel Dda University Health Board.

“Their famous toy run is always a huge success and brings Christmas cheer to many children supported across the Hywel Dda region. We can’t thank them enough for their time, effort and dedication to fundraising.”

The 3 Amigos will be going with Santa to Glangwili on Saturday (December 16) so he can visit the ward and start handing out presents.
