The Stackpole Singers are holding their first concert of the year and the members of St Gwynog’s Church, St Twynnells are thrilled that it will be held in their church.

The Stackpole Singers, led by Becky Evans, delighted diners at the Stackpole Inn when they sang on St David’s Day. At 7pm on Sunday, March 17, the Singers will be putting on a full concert held in the church which overlooks the Castlemartin Army Range.

Visitors can often be seen standing in the doorway in the summer admiring the view. Like most churches, St Gwynog’s is always looking to raise much needed funds to enable it to stay open. And Becky and the Stackpole Singers have very kindly agreed to support the church once again.

The evening promises to be a delightful event for anyone who likes to listen to songs both old and new, as the singers will be performing some items written by Becky and you will hear many local place names included in the songs!

The Stackpole Singers were formed at the Stackpole Inn 15 years ago. The purpose of the group was just to get the community together to sing songs on Sunday evenings. Initially there were just nine members.

Never charging for its services, the group has raised thousands of pounds for local charities. Members don’t see themselves as a choir so much as a community singing group, and they’ll sing anything, from classical to pop, as long as it’s fun!

The group has been known to have the audience dancing in the aisles!

The event will include a raffle.

There will not be a charge for admission but any donations would be very gratefully received.
