On November 2, Canelo will publish The Sixth Lie, an atmospheric new crime novel set in St Davids.

Author Sarah Ward spent her childhood in Wales before moving to England.  She has recently moved back and now lives in Ceredigon.  The setting for The Sixth Lie is St Davids, with both the cathedral and the nearby ruined cliff-side chapel at St Non’s providing the dramatic backdrop and the sense of Welsh history, some of which she learned while tracing her own family tree, that Sarah wanted to draw on.

Sarah is a member (and treasurer) of Crime Cymru, the collective promoting Welsh crime writing, and author of The Birthday Girl (set in a fictional Welsh Island inspired by Caldey), described as a "gripping, claustrophobic murder mystery", "Christie-esque" and "a tale of murder, madness, and revenge."

On New Year's Eve 2011, Huw Jones disappeared from his bedroom while his father and five friends were downstairs.  His body was later discovered on nearby cliffs at St. Non's.  All six friends lied in their statements to the police that night and now, over a decade later, Huw's mother, Heledd, has been found dead.  Ex-Met detective Mallory Dawson is tasked with uncovering the lies lurking in the tight-knit community of St Davids but someone has kept their secret for years and isn't about to give it up easily...
