Tenby Male Choir have paused their busy 50th annual Summer Season of concerts while they get their breath back! In their golden anniversary year they have so far performed 13 concerts, seven of which were fundraisers for charities and good causes which collectively raised almost £7,000.
Beneficiaries have included Ysgol Greenhill School, St Johns Church, Save the Children, Ty Hafan, Tenovus Cancer Care, Cancer Research Wales and Wales Air Ambulance. A coffee morning, a barbeque and half a dozen other concerts have generated funds to cover the Choir’s running costs.
The Choir will be resuming their Season with concerts at St Mary’s Church on Thursdays 21st and 28th August, both at 7.30. Admission £10, accompanied children under 16 free.
In the first of these concerts on the 21st the Choir will be joined by gifted local young pianist Sabrina Morgan, 22, who has been performing with the Choir since she was 9 years old. At the second event (28th) the Choir will be joined by local Sea Shanty group ‘Cockles and Mussels’, a fun and friendly local choir from Manorbier, which meets weekly to learn and practise traditional songs and shanties.
To mark the Choir’s 50th Anniversary year a very special concert is planned for September 4th at 7.30 in the De Valence Pavilion. The Choir will be joined by their President Wynne Evans and the exceptional ladies choir Bella Voce for an evening of excellent musical entertainment. Admission £15, accompanied children under 16 free.

On Tuesday, September 9th, Tenby Male Choir will be performing one of their popular informal concerts in the basement ballroom of the Giltar Hotel. The event will begin at 8.30pm and whilst there is no admission charge, a bucket collection will be made.
