The Paul Sartori Foundation, working in partnership with Pembroke Castle, has announced the new date for the ‘Voices at the Castle’ event which will see renowned singer Russell Watson headline.
The event will now take place on Saturday, June 13, following its postponement last September due to unusually stormy weather.
For the summer show, the castle grounds will host a full day of live music, food and community celebration in one of Wales’s most iconic historic settings.
The Foundation is delighted to confirm that Russell Watson will still headline the event in support of this fantastic local charity.
The world-renowned tenor was keen to reschedule and perform at the castle, continuing his support for Voices at the Castle. As many know, he has a particular fondness for a Welsh castle backdrop!
The team were unable to reschedule the Friday night massed choirs event as not everyone was available.
However, a superb line-up of regional talent will join Russell on stage throughout the Saturday evening, including Bella Voce, Pembrokeshire Pop Voices, The Paul Sartori Community Choir and Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir. Together, they will create an uplifting day of song and celebration, filling the castle with harmonies, community spirit and a shared love of music, all in aid of Paul Sartori Hospice at Home.
In addition to the live performances, the event will feature a charity bar, a range of hot food options, and picnic items available for purchase. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food as well as chairs and blankets to create the ultimate summer picnic atmosphere within the castle walls.
It promises to be a rare and one-off opportunity to enjoy world-class music and local talent in such a remarkable and historic venue.
Joanne Lutwyche, Events and Fundraising Officer for The Paul Sartori Foundation, said: “Many, including our teams, were disappointed at the autumn postponement, but we believe it's created the perfect opportunity to make the most of the summer evenings and the spectacular setting at Pembroke Castle.
“This promises to be an unforgettable day, and we look forward to welcoming everyone who has waited patiently for this fantastic charity event,” she added.
Tickets for the relaunched Voices at the Castle are priced at £35 and can be purchased by calling the Paul Sartori team on 01437 763223.
Ticket holders from the postponed September weekend are being thanked for their patience during the rescheduling process.
Friday ticket holders can get refunded before purchasing their tickets for the new all-day event.
Saturday ticket holders are asked to get in touch to receive their new tickets, while weekend ticket holders will be assisted in switching over and settling any difference.
Both The Paul Sartori Foundation and Pembroke Castle teams are looking forward to welcoming supporters and visitors for this special summer event.
June offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy longer days, warmer evenings and (hopefully) plenty of sunshine for the ideal backdrop for music, food and community spirit. After all, good things come to those who wait!
