A NARBERTH gallery is holding an exhibition celebrating a Welsh fine art printmaking studio run by volunteers that has been going since 1998.

Oriel Q, 11 Market Street, is delighted to present an exhibition to celebrate the 25 year anniversary of Swansea Print Workshop, showcasing all things printmaking and prints.

Swansea Print Workshop is a not-for-profit, fine arts organisation committed to sharing its passion for printmaking and making this art form accessible to all, through open studio facilities and education, working in the community and with artists at all levels.

Set up in 1998 by founder members, Jackie Ford and Alan Williams, supported by a small group of artists, Swansea Print Workshop is a friendly, small organisation with a big impact! It’s a vital creative hub for local artists and community, and plays its part in the wider printmaking world with national and international connections made through projects and exhibitions.

The exhibition will feature original fine art prints by a selection of highly skilled artist printmakers associated with the workshop, the 25-years@SPW artists’ book of original prints by 22 workshop members, a limited edition Miners Imprint boxset and a selection of mini-prints.

The gallery will also be showing videos of printmaking techniques, together with a film which tells the story of Swansea Print Workshop and its members, and visitors can browse through a wide selection of prints by the members of this very special professional and community printmaking studio.

The exhibition opens on Friday, May 16 and runs until Saturday, June 21, available to view from Wednesday to Saturday, 10-4pm, with an opportunity to meet the artists from 4pm to 7pm on Saturday, May 17.

Oriel Q’s Anna Warchus says: “There is something for everyone in this treasure trove of an exhibition - do come along and visit, we look forward to welcoming you!”
