Despite the occasional light shower, around 10 members of the Swansea Society of Model Engineers came on September 16 with six engines, two of which were battery powered, and a very successful and enjoyable day ensued. Swansea were extremely generous in their donations; the sum of £117 was left for the Pembrokeshire group along with half a bag of excellent coal.

Pembrokeshire Miniature Rail Acting Secretary Wilf said: “Many thanks to our members for getting everything sorted and helping in general; to the ladies for providing the food - the lunchtime chips even provided  too much for some and there were  leftovers for the Seagulls; to Trevor who provided countless cups of tea, all very much appreciated, and to everyone who contributed to the success of the day.”

“It was great to see Jon Houser back for an early visit,” he added.  “Past members Fred and Val Cripps from Cardigan also came and it was very nice to see them again.”
