Photographer David Wilson has announced that this autumn will see the publication of his new book ‘Peeling Paint and Rust’ by Graffeg, which he admits he is incredibly excited about.
“As you know, I love black and white photography,” David explained in his latest newsletter, “but I also love faded flaking colours on old buildings, peeling paint on weathered wooden doors and signs, falling-apart cars, and especially, rusted corrugated iron, the rural building material of choice for much of Wales.
“On my travels around this beguilling country I have been stopped in my tracks by beautiful decay, ” he added.
Pictured here are a few examples that will appear in the book.
David Wilson was brought up in Haverfordwest and now lives a few miles downstream in the riverside village of Llangwm with his wife Anna and their sons Charlie and Harry. He has been taking photographs of Pembrokeshire since the age of 17.
