ARE you an artist? Would you like to see your work displayed? The Joanna Field Gallery at the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven is looking for talented Pembrokeshire artists to showcase their work.
Artists exhibit their subjects at the gallery for a month. Some host a launch at the beginning of their exhibition and sell their paintings, whether they are pencil drawings, oil paintings or collages – any medium is welcome.
“The gallery space is so inviting, located next to our popular cafe. Over the years we have included paintings in all sorts of mediums by local amateur and professional artists, ranging from seascapes to portraits and the themes vary a lot,” said Jordan Dickin, Torch Theatre’s Producing and Programming Co-ordinator.
Over the past two years, artist, Paul King, has exhibited his work twice at the Torch Theatre. In 2024 he exhibited his work with other artists through Learning Pembrokeshire and this year he held an exhibition titled Out and About (Most of the Time) with other local artists.
“All members of the Torch team I interacted with were enthusiastic about the exhibition and keen to help. Overall it’s been a very positive experience, thank you,” said Paul.
He added: “The exhibition was a great help in pushing me towards finally finishing my paintings and framing them. Seeing them hanging on the walls next to my friends’ paintings, who’ve also been working on their paintings for the past year, gave me a great sense of achievement. The staff members were helpful and the space is great.
“As an amateur art group the exhibition provides a great chance to showcase our work. I’d encourage anyone who has enough artwork to fill the walls to think about exhibiting their work at the Torch.”
