Two of the most talented young musicians in Pembrokeshire will be giving a concert at St Mary’s Church, Tenby at the end of this month.

Carys Underwood from Narberth and Sara Llewellyn from Neyland are both percussionists who play a huge variety of instruments, but this concert will feature the mellow sounds of the marimba and vibraphone, with pieces to suit everyone.

The girls are already familiar to Tenby audiences as they have both been regular guest soloists at Tenby Male Voice Choir concerts where they have impressed everyone with their virtuosity.

Carys will shortly begin her third year as a scholarship student at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama while Sara has spent the summer playing in The National Youth Orchestra of Wales before taking up her first year at Birmingham University where she will study Chemistry. Both were previous members of the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain and also of the National Youth Percussion Ensemble of Great Britain.

The lunchtime concert takes place on Thursday, August 31 at 1.15pm. Admission is free and there will be a retiring collection in aid of St. Mary’s Church.
