Artist Lynn Stuart launches Waterfront Gallery’s new exhibition space with a solo exhibition ‘Hubberston Girls’.
The exhibition will run until May 30 with the gallery extending its opening hours to Monday to Saturday, from 10.30am to 4pm.
A private view of the exhibition will be held on Thursday, May 14 from 3 to 6pm – all are welcome.
‘Hubberston Girls’ is a deeply personal series of works drawn and painted on brown paper, reflecting on life growing up on a council estate.
The choice of material recalls lunch bags and magazines wrapped in paper – everyday objects that carry memory and meaning. Once oiled, the paper becomes semi-transparent, allowing paint to be applied to the reverse, creating layered, intimate imagery.

The Gallery is housed in the Old Sail Loft on Discovery Quay, Milford Waterfront, Milford Haven, SA73 3AF.
One of southwest Wales’s leading art galleries, the Waterfront Gallery is a registered charity and home to the Wales Contemporary Annual Competition. It is run by artist volunteers who exhibit at the gallery on a regular basis.
