Pembrokeshire’s Upton Castle Gardens are excited to announce the opening of this year’s Summer Exhibition - Flora and Form, a dynamic mixed-media art exhibition.
The showcase brings together an extraordinary collection of works featuring flowers, wood, stone, glass, metal, and oil paintings. Featuring the work of 15 eminent artists including Gerda Roper, James Doran-Webb, Helen Sinclair MRSS, Roger Stephens MRSS.
Flora and Form explores the striking relationship between the soft, transient beauty of the natural world and the rigid, enduring strength of hard materials.
Visitors will experience a visual dialogue where delicate oil canvases and fresh floral themes meet the heavy, tactile presence of wood, sculpted stone, molten glass, and forged metal.
“This exhibition is an exploration of contrast and harmony,” said curator Imogen Annan.
“By placing organic elements alongside rigid structures, the artists challenge our perceptions of texture, permanence, and beauty. It is an immersive experience that connects the audience directly to the work. Visitors of all ages enjoy following the Sculpture trail through the historic gardens, discovering a surprise round each corner.”
One notable piece on show will be James Doran-Webb’s ‘The Importance of Company’ - described as a delicate balance between fellowship and a quick nudge.
The creation has been made out of long dead driftwood and recycled stainless steel.
Admission to the Gardens and Exhibition is £8.50 per Adult; £2.50 per Child.
The exhibition runs from July 5 to September 20.
Located in the heart of Pembrokeshire, Upton Castle Gardens, a historic RHS partner Garden, has been a hub for contemporary art since 2023.
The gallery is dedicated to showcasing innovative works by both established and emerging artists, fostering a vibrant local arts community.
