There are now just ten days to go until Eisteddfod y Garreg Las in Pembrokeshire throws open its gates for an eight-day celebration of Welsh language, creativity and culture in Llantwd.

Local communities have been busy decorating the area ready to welcome the festival, and the Maes build is in full swing.

This year’s National Eisteddfod will be held in the north of the county from 1 to 8 August, and this year’s catchment area also includes communities in south Ceredigion and west Carmarthenshire.

Pentre'r Garreg Las, Pembrokeshire County Council and partners’ area on the Maes, will showcase and celebrate the county, with a full programme of talks, performances and demonstrations planned for Pabell Pawb.

This year marks 850 years since the first Eisteddfod was held a few miles from the site in Cardigan Castle, and this popular festival brings together performers, writers, artists, choirs, competitors and visitors from across Wales for a week of competitions, concerts and exhibitions.
