Since being rescued from dereliction and fully restored 25 years ago, the beautiful little country chapel at Burnett’s Hill near Martletwy has enjoyed a new lease of life as an occasional live music venue.

Appreciative audiences pack the pews to hear some of the top names in folk and world music. This summer’s concert programme began with a sell-out show featuring Brooklyn trio Damn Tall Buildings; next up is Coracle on Tuesday, May 13.

Featuring Paul Hutchinson on accordion, Karen Wimhurst (Pagoda Project) on clarinet and saxophone and Hannah Cumming on fiddle and vocals, the dazzling trio is grounded in the English folk tradition, but with hints of jazz, classical and Eastern European music.
