Whitland held an excellent carnival on Saturday. Photographer Malcolm Richards was on hand to record the spectacular floats, classic cars and walking entries.

There was a fabulous turnout for 2023 Whitland Carnival, the finale of a week-long selection of fun family events, as some entrants marked 100 years of Walt Disney - and not just the heroes and princesses, but the villains too!

Disney’s wasn’t the only anniversary celebrated at this year’s Carnival. An inventive float paid tribute to the Uk’s 75-year-old National Health Service.

Colourful characters also joined the carnival parade on foot at Whitland on Saturday.

There was a touch of satire in some entries, like the stone-age-themed one, entitled ‘2023 Pandemic Living Crisis‘, punning that ‘times are hard’.

Best Car in Show was won by Whitland Classic Motor Club’s Tony Brinsden with his Vauxhall VX4/90 FB.
