‘Learning Pembrokeshire’ has opened its adult learners’ annual art exhibition for South Pembrokeshire at Pembroke Dock Library, and it is on display until June 27.

Members of the art classes at both Tenby and Pembroke Dock Community Learning Centres were entertained with tea, coffee and biscuits whilst they viewed their collective artwork. Much of it is at an astonishingly high standard and is well worth a visit.

Learning Pembrokeshire tutors said the learners deserve praise and thanks for contributing their work and helping make it such a worthwhile exhibition, adding thanks to organisers of the event Phil Allen and Sandra Evans.

The art has been expertly hung by tutor Phil Allen and the opening event was organised behind the scenes by Sandra Evans.

The exhibition is especially significant as both these valuable members of staff are retiring this summer. Phil has been a popular tutor at community learning centres around Pembrokeshire since 2016.

He brought home to Pembrokeshire a wealth of experience working in adult education in London and has been much appreciated by learners and staff alike at Learning Pembrokeshire.

Sandra Evans has been an important team member for the service for 35 years. She has managed Pembroke Dock Community Learning Centre with commitment and enthusiasm and has been the heart and soul of adult learning in Pembroke Dock for a long time.

“Both members of staff will be greatly missed, and we wish them all the very best for the next exciting phase of their lives,” said Lifelong Learning Manager Jenni Griffiths.
