There were special birthday celebrations at Park House Court Nursing Home in Tenby on Saturday when John Angelo Louis Fecci celebrated his 100th birthday.

Born on September 12, 1915, in Rafi in the Bardi region of Italy, John moved to Tenby, where he has spent the rest of his life, life when he was four-year-old.

The eldest of seven children, he married Hester ‘Hettie’ Manning in 1947 and they enjoyed many years of happiness together until she passed away in 2002.

John was a well-known businessman in the town and spent his working life running the Pixie Ice-Cream Factory.

A party with family and fellow residents to celebrate his centenary was held on Saturday when guest of honour was the Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Paul Rapi, whose father Louis just happened to be John’s business partner!
