Last Sunday saw the end of season party of the newly-formed Kilgetty Cricket Club's Under 13s and Under 11s.

During a glorious afternoon, club chairman Ted George welcomed the youngsters, together with their families, to an open-air presentation session. He firstly congratulated the Under 13s on their superb performance in their first season, where they finished in the creditable position of mid-table of the A League. He went on to explain that this would not have been possible but for the equipment and coaching given through the grant award from the Sports Council for Wales' Community Chest Scheme.

President of the club, Dr. Roy Allen, then awarded the medals in the absence of Mr. Glyn Williams, Folly Farm, who has elected to sponsor the youngsters. Recipients were Josh Bevan (capt.). Andrew Evans, Richard Cope, Alan Townsend, Jake Marsh, Chris Watkins, Grant Watkins, Simon Merriman, Aled Waters, Kyle Marsh and Jack Murphy. The following players will have their medals forwarded as they were unable to be present - James North, Callum Proctor, Ryan Howells, James Canton and Elliot Morrison.

Dr. Allen then thanked the parents for all their help with transport and also for supporting the youngsters during matches.

In the absence of WCA advanced coach, Nicky Evans, first team captain Graham Jenkins awarded the following Under 11s with ECB Kwik Cricket certificates - Daniel Allen, Josh Thomas, Jake Proctor, Adam North, Jack Butler, Jac Waters, Curtis Marsh, Liam Cullen, Ieuan Jones and Adam Frearson.

John Bevan then awarded Louise Waters with a bouquet of flowers for all her help in coaching the Under 11s.

The Under 13s batsman of the year trophy was awarded to Jake Marsh, who scored 124 runs.

The Under 13s bowler of the year trophy was won jointly by Alan Townsend and James North, who each took five wickets.

There will be regular coaching for the Under 10s, through the winter months, due to another grant award from the Sports Council of Wales' Community Chest Scheme. These youngsters also received cricket equipment through the grant.
