As always, the Sunday morning service enjoyed a meaningful time of praise and worship, this one led by Debbie Fiddy and supported vocally by Natalie, Jacque Rodda, who also played keyboard, and Jonathan Fiddy, who also played guitar.

The atmosphere was warm and friendly and enjoyed by all.

Jonathan Fiddy gave the word based on the first book of the Bible, Genesis and its importance.

Many are led to believe that Genesis is a fairytale or fable and cannot be taken seriously. God calls us to take his word as His word and to read the Bible in its right context, then it will all make perfect sense.

We are told when we have a true relationship with God through His son Jesus Christ that the spiritual veil that is over the word is lifted off and, as true believers in Him, we see clearly the truths He wants us to find in this wonderful historical and prophetic book.

In Genesis, we are told that God created the heavens, earth, seas, rivers and streams, vegetation, animals and last, but not least, man! God created man in His own image and placed Adam and Eve, Adam's helpmate, in a beautiful garden with a flowing river with all sorts of plants, food and animals. There was one tree in this garden, however, which they were asked not to eat from, though there were many that they could in fact eat from, this being the tree of knowledge of good and evil; all seemed wonderful until the serpent, who is in fact Lucifer or devil as he is known today, came to entice Eve first, then Adam.

The devil was at one time very close to God, but became discontent with serving Him and wanted himself to be worshipped, so he set up a rebellion in heaven and took many angelic beings with him with the same tactics as he uses on us today, with deception through lies!

This he used on Eve; he questioned what God had said to them. He said "Did God say you could not eat of this tree? If you eat of this fruit, you will not die, you will be as gods!"

Is this not familiar in today's society where we are told we are like mini gods. This lie has been around for a very long time!

The Bible tells us that the devil comes to steal, lie, kill and destroy and we are not to show sympathy towards him as he has no mercy and knows the only way that he can hurt God is to destroy God's creation, mainly His children, the likes of you and me!

The devil has a destiny, that being eternity separated from the love of God in the lake of fire. Sure enough, just as he did when he left heaven and deceived many angels to leave with him, he hopes to deceive many of the you and me's to join him in this the grand final in the lake of fire and cut us off from the wonderful love of God!

Jesus Christ is the second Adam who was not corrupted by sin and has made a way for God's people (the you and me's) to bypass God's judgement of death and eternal separation by His sacrificial death on the cross where His precious blood washes us and makes us clean. Whoo hoo!
