Sunday's service started with a time of praise and worship lead by Jacquie Rodda and centred around God's wonderful creation and our need to give Him thanks and honour for all His wonderful acts and provisions. One of the congregation gave testimony of just that, in that she heard God's voice tell her what she needed for a job she was undertaking in the week and had also miraculously been protected following a collision with her car and a taxi. 'We serve a mighty God!'

The word this week was given by Pastor Edward Evans on the importance of Israel and its significance and place in the world today, although many of us are just not aware of this fact for unless we read the Bible you just wouldn't know.

In Genesis 1, it tells us of the signs in the firmament, heavens and in Luke 21 v .11... talking of signs of the times. There will be fearful sights and great signs in the heavens, also in Joel 2.

Verses 30-32 again speaking of the end of the age. That God would pour out His spirit and showing signs and wonders in the heavens.

He went on to tell us about the significance of blood moons that have taken place in our night sky in the last 520 years which NASA has recorded and their significance to Israel.

Blood moons always predict something big for Israel, whilst a blacked out sun for the rest of us!

In 1493, in King Ferdinand of Spain's reign, all Jews were expelled and given only two weeks to find alternative living arrangements. In fact, the king paid Christopher Columbus to find them somewhere during the Spanish inquisition. These all being blood moon predictions. In 1949, Israel was declared a Nation again. Also in 1967, the six day war between Israel and the Arab nations which Israel over came.

As Christians today, we should not be ignorant of the importance of these signs. Remembering our saviour came from Israel and of course our dept of gratitude for the old and new testament and 10 commandments which the Jewish people have kept .

The Bible tells us that the Jews are the natural branches and we the Gentiles have been grafted in... Romans 11, 25-26.

Finally, we were given Genesis 12 v2-3 talking of the nation of Israel... 'I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.' This can be seen recently through Canada's support towards Israel and the blessing they have received as a nation!

So I wonder what the next four (tetrad) blood moons will have in-store for Israel, as they are predicted this April 15, 2014, again October 8, 2014, April 4, 2015, and finally September 28, 2015?
