After a time of heart-stirring worship led by Jackie Rodda, the congregation was addressed with an encouraging.word by Pastor Edward Evans.

He began with the parable of the talents saying two servants were faithful and the other not, the two faithful were rewarded each to their own abilities, one given five the other two, but both receiving equal praise from God. We were encouraged not to be negative about ourselves, but to let the gifts of God increase, grow, producing in us a harvest of faithfulness and steadfastness, but also to examine our ways not focusing on our needs but putting God first knowing that when God is central we are blessed. He went on to share a quote from David: "I will not offer the Lord anything that does not cost me!" ... meaning perhaps in our lives, time, finance or Labour, giving to one another for we Labour for what will never pass away.

Encouragement is so important, criticism on the other hand is not, we are to be a light in the darkness to our families, friends and associates.

Zechariah ch 4 v 7: "Not by might, not by power, but by my spirit .says the Lord," relying on the supernatural provisions of God and above all putting Him first in our lives. Not looking to the past with our faith, but investing it in the future and growth of His church.
